The Meanings of Prayer

Does prayer change things?
If God is all sovereign; he sees and knows the future, why pray?
Does it even matter?

Here are some questions that have gone through my mind for as long as I can remember. But of late it has come from the back of my thoughts to the front row. They have been pushing on me. I talked to a friend about those; we shared our thoughts and opinions on the subject (which I really enjoyed Lèrowen!). Then I talked to one of my parents, and then she directed me to talk to RC Sproul (his book I mean).
I feel like I can answer those questions for my self now, and its very comforting to do just that.

But I want to hear your views.
Debate it, consider, read and think about it.
I have my post (which has some help from RC Sproul) scheduled for tomorrow (11-5-09) at 10:35 AM
see it there.

Ah, I'm afraid I can't participate in this for fear of ruining your post tomorrow :) As a big "fan"(for lack of a better word) of RC Sproul and I've both listened to his sermons on this subject, and read them too.
This is a really great subject though, I'm glad you're posting about it!

I think all believers struggle with this at one point another. I have no solid answers. But I know two things:

1) God *is* sovereign, and His will is perfect.

2) He *does* listen to our prayers.

How those things are compatible I can't always say. But I have faith that it is so.

Not much time, but let me just say-

The Bible says that God has even
changed his mind! While he is totally sovereign, he can have things be according to his will while also leaving some space for some extraordinary freedoms within his creation!!

Blessings,

PS- Lib, you are SO not to late to join NaNo ReMo.

It's only 4 days into it.

To make up for the 4 days you haven't participated, just use your story w/ Weylin and Shayla!!!!

That way you won't be too behind.

It's a great way to get one of your stories finished in a month!!!
