Playgrounds

What do you imagine when you hear that?
Warm sunshine?
Colorful slides?
Chain-linked swings?
Children yelling, “I gotta go Pott-y!”

Whatever you reflect on, you must remember the pure delight and pleasure you had when you were little.
I always loved the park and its playgrounds, the swings, slides, monkey bars, and that pole that you could slide down-Now that was my favorite.

About a week ago, during one of Jare’s baseball games, for the first time we brought ALL of the little ones. Yep, a 7 year old, 5 year-old, 3 year-old, and a 2 month old baby.
I can say that I only got to watch parts of the game.
Good thing though, there was a playground, *Yay* so my older sister and I took turns watching and playing with the kids.
It was very entertaining (for the kids and me); I went on the slide and in the tunnel.

Then I saw it.

That long, straight pole.

And I thought to myself, “ Man, I love those things.”
So as I watch all the other little kids sliding down it, and having a grad time, I get the idea that if I slide on it, I would have as much fun as them.
And maybe I would have, IF I were less than 5 feet tall!
So stupid little me climbed up to the 4 feet to the little landing, grabbed hold of the pole that had so many blissful childhood memories…and jumped.

And I hit the ground.

Now you may think, “Come on that’s not bad.” Well it sorta was, see I jumped with my legs straight (as I did when I was a 4 foot tall child), and I hit the ground, and that made my knee jam into that fun, metal pole.

Ow

“Well, you just did it wrong” I told myself.
So I climb back up, and slide down.

Ow

Lets just say I’m not always too smart.

So I have retried to swings. That is until I go to a firehouse and slide down their BIG pole.
But I’m not the only one who has pleasurable/horror stories about playgrounds; this guy also has something to say.
