Corrie Ten BoomCorrie Ten Boom was born on April 15, 1892.
Herself and her whole family were very active in the Dutch Underground, hiding refugees, manly Jews.
Later after doing this for a while, The whole Ten Boom family was arrested on February 28, 1944. Corrie's father died just 10 days after capture.
Corries sister Nollie, brother William and nephew Peter were released a short time later. Corrie and her close sister Betsie were put into a concentration camp, were on December 16, 1944(ten mouths after capture) Betsie died.
On December 25, 1944, Christmas day Corrie was released. In the movie
The Hiding Place, Ten Boom narrates the section on her release from camp, saying that she later learned that her release had been a clerical error. The women prisoners her age in the camp were killed the week following her release. She said, "God does not have problems. Only plans."
Corrie Ten Boom is one of my heroes because of her faith through all that happened to her. Corrie died on her birthday, April 15, 1986. She was 91 years old. She is a Huge inspiration to me.
Clarissa Harlowe Barton
(More widely known as) Clara Barton .Clara was born December 25, 1821. Clara was a nurse in the American Civil War, and later founded the American Red Cross.
Clare died April 12, 1912. She is an inspiration to me for her loving care for people she did not know and for her ability's to serve.
John Bunyan
John was born November 28, 1628.
He is most known for his book, Pilgrims Progress. Which most people don't know that he wrote it in prison for his daughter. He considered it a child's story.
He never thought it would change lives.
John Bunyan died August 31, 1688.
Now some fiction hero's and heroines(which I'll move on to later)!
Ned
First on my list is Ned the lab, a creation of Brain Jacques. Ned is loyal, kind, funny, brave and witty. =) He was fist named Denmark(nickname was Den), then they took Den and reversed it. He was then called Ned(which I like very much).
Aragorn
Aragorn is also one of my favorites. In the book(I've only read the first) he was of-sorts a talker. Brave, Loyal, trust-able, and was the first one to brake up a fight. He was calm and everyone look up to him(some more then others, if you get what I mean =P). In the movie he was also brave and loyal, but was more quiet and reserved. He was still trust Worthy and admired.
Ben
Ben is in a way and also not in a way Ned's owner. At times its Ned that calls the shots(did I not say that Ned and Ben can talk through their minds to each other?), while other times its all Ben.
Ben was born deaf and mute. His father died when he was very young and his mother remarried a man with 2 sons of his own. But shortly after that, his mother died and Ben(who did not have a name, for he was considered dumb) was treated like a slave to his step father and brothers. One night he ran away, but his step brothers ran after him and nearly caught him, but Ben fell into the cold sea. the left him there(it was winter) to die. But at that moment the vessel, The Flying Dutchman, with his dreaded Captain Venderdecken was sailing out. Ben grabbed hold of a rope that was trailing in the large vessel wake, and hung on for dear life. In the morning he was rescued(if you could call if that) and he was to be the cooks boy. Many weeks later Ben met Ned(at the time Ben was known as Neb, then in the middle of the book they changed it=) They were fast friends, though Ned was just a normal dog and Ben could still not talk in any way. Venderdecken was a little mad or not to right up in the attic. He wish do make it around a dangers cape during a storm. There was ice and snow, a hurricane and every weather thing you can think of. Venderdeken went on ward, never taking heed to warnings. Finally, the ship was in tatters, half his crew died from falling over board. He lashed himself to the helm and cried cruses out to God. Then a Angel came down and cursed Venderdecken. He and his men would sail the seas for eternally, never dying. But the angle had compassion on the two only innocent souls on board, Ned and Ben. He then gave them eternal life on earth and set them on the shores, and then Ben and Ned could talk together silently and Ben was no longer deaf and mute. There are 3 books in the series of the Flying Dutchman (my favorites!).
