Oh, and after watching this, and you find yourself thinking "Mmm. That's kinda funny." Then it's clear you haven't seen the background to this song - Go here to watch it and then watch first video over again. (BTW, I don't recommend the movie =)
Now the only thing is this, I wonder what Mr. Grudem thinks about this!
I'm surprised anyone stayed around all this time and I just want to say thanks to those of you who did. Nice to see/read you again!
And to celebrate our coming back... here's this REALLY awesome vid that was emailed to me and I finally get to post it. Read the guide notes under the vid if you have trouble figuring out what she's doing.
Guide Notes:::
This video shows the winner of " Ukraine’s Got Talent", Kseniya Simonova, 24, drawing a series of pictures on an illuminated sand table showing how ordinary people were affected by the German invasion during World War II. Her talent, which admittedly is a strange one, is mesmeric to watch.
The images, projected onto a large screen, moved many in the audience to tears and she won the top prize of about £75,000.
She begins by creating a scene showing a couple sitting holding hands on a bench under a starry sky, but then warplanes appear and the happy scene is obliterated.
It is replaced by a woman’s face crying, but then a baby arrives and the woman smiles again. Once again war returns and Miss Simonova throws the sand into chaos from which a young woman’s face appears.
She quickly becomes an old widow, her face wrinkled and sad, before the image turns into a monument to an Unknown Soldier.
This outdoor scene becomes framed by a window as if the viewer is looking out on the monument from within a house...
In the final scene, a mother and child appear inside and a man standing outside, with his hands pressed against the glass, saying goodbye.
The Great Patriotic War, as it is called in Ukraine , resulted in one in four of the population being killed with eight to 11 million deaths out of a population of 42 million.
Kseniya Simonova says:
"I find it difficult enough to create art using paper and pencils or paintbrushes, but using sand and fingers is beyond me. The art, especially when the war is used as the subject matter, even brings some audience members to tears. And there’s surely no bigger compliment."
Trailor of the independent film, Born of Hope. Inspired after the Lord of the Rings. this is a pretty well done film of a prequel of LOTR. You can view the full movie at YouTupe.com.
This is insanely lame, it seems I can only post one video per post...other wise it simply won't upload. So here's one... (sorry its so shaky... I was trying to step over a bunch of PBC pipes and wire)
...Paintball war that is. Yes, so most of you know that Jare had a birthday last week (and thank you from me ((Lib)) for wishing him so, it really made his day) and it shall now be known that it was a paintball battle.
(this is me trying to be artist....with gooey paint-balls)
So I was thinking I'll tell you how the day went (and exactly one week from the party too).
The Party started out with the friends arriving at our house around 11am, from there everyone just hung out and talked until a little later when we shared lunch (Junk Food!!!!!). From there - we (they) decided it was time to get on with the battles. So in the below pick you can see that we are picking teams.... (or something along those lines - and this is not all of us btw)
After this was done... you then get ready to go, as in picking up your gun - only to realize that it's leaking Co2... or that your hopper is not tight enough, or your gun won't shoot more then 3 inches (poor JH)... But this is totally the norm... You just tend to be ready to stand around for a while and wait for those who's weapons are not working... and you wait and wait.... More standing around....
And them.... ATTACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The battles were great if not short. And I think everyone got hit at least twice so that counts for something right?
Here is a random video clip from the party -- more to hopefully follow
Here is a video that my dad showed me last night. This is Chuck Buser playing The Little Drummer Boy on the classic guitar...see the awesome way he puts the 5th and 6th strings together to make the snare drum sound? So Up!
Any way, I'm mostly posting this because I know (or knew) this guy. His son and I were in the same Sunday school class when we were younger; and all I really remember of M is that we almost always had the same length of hair...and that I remember on many occasions him pulling my pigtails and me pulling his ponytail back...good memories, eh?=)
This is one of my favorite songs...hope you enjoy.
(also, the first guy who is playing the drum...is it only me or does he look like a well known author? It might just be me *shrugs* Please tell if you think they look similar!)
