1st Day of Summer!

So today is the first day of summer and everybody says...Hip-Hip Hurrah!
and its fathers day too so "Happy day" to all the dads out there =)

What I look forward to in this summer:

Warm weather and green fields of wildflowers(its fine though if the grass is brown =)

Picnics and spending all my free time outdoors in the wonderful fresh air.

The sunsets, manly at the ocean.

Sleeping outside and seeing all the summer stars.

But I also very much look forwards to the firework shows that dad, Jare and I do.
Here's a poem that also reminds me of the summer

Green Grass by James Reeves (1909-1978)

Green grass is all I hear
And green grass is all I see
When though tall fields I wander
Swish-swishing to the knee.

Grass is short on the high heat
And long on the hillside.
There’s where the rabbits burrow,
And here's where I hide.

The hillside is my castle,
Its walls are the tall grass;
Over them I peer and pry
To see the people pass.

Long and far I send my gaze
Over the valleys low.
There I can see but do not hear
The wagons lumbering slow.

Horseman, footman, shepherd, dog-
Here in my castle green
I see them move though vale and village,
I see but am not seen.

Green grasses whispering round me,
All in the summer fine,
Tell me your secrets, meadow grass,
And I will tell you mine.

What are some of the things that you are looking forward to this summer?

Post about it and let your friends know

I ditto to all that you've said, especially the stars and the sunset ones!
I also look forward to the suppers outside under the apricot tree in the fresh breeze of the night. YAY!

Funny thing about this post was as I was writing it (I think you all know how slow I am at that) it started hailing! Plus tons of rain at that. Then when I finished the post it was sunny and I thought about saying, "but I still believe its spring!"

where'd you get the pic of the table and the logs and the fire pit? it looks like the set up over at a nature preserve near where I live...
